How to Post Labor on Pocket PC

Path: Work Order > Labor > New

Use the mobileTMA Post Labor window to record the amount of time spent working on a job. By default, the Technician, Trade, Time Type, Shift, Date, and Time fields are completed when the window is opened. You may change the information in these fields if needed.

The Tech List option is used to filter the list of technicians. With the Tech Search option, you can enter the first few characters to reduce the list. The Tech Scan option is used with bar coding.

If the labor is not chargeable, mark the No Cost check box. This is the same as the No Charge check box on the Work Order Cost Entry window.

If you want to close a technician's specific scheduled line, click the check box Close Schedule Line. This does not close or finish the task or the work order.

Technicians can also add comments that are saved to the labor line rather than to the work order comments. These are not the same as regular tech comments.

Typically, several required fields are completed when the window opens. To complete the record:

  1. Select the WO #.
  2. (Optional) Tap in the Account # field to add a number.
  3. Tap the Hours field and record the number of hours spent on the job. Note: If you use the timer, you can tap in the field and tap the Timer BtnTimeOnPPC button to automatically calculate and enter the time.
  4. (Optional) Tap the Close Schedule Line check box if a specific assignment line is complete.
  5. (Optional) Tap the Close Work Order check box if all work is completed for this work order.
  6. Tap Done BtnDonePPC on the menu bar to save the record.

Information posted to these windows is transferred to WebTMA at the next Data Sync.

BtnNoteTextIf a work order is assigned to a Project and that Project has been closed, no modifications, including posting, can be made to the work order from the application or from mobileTMA.
